In a reverse takeover, Scotland-based electronics company Rodime buys Littlewoods as part of a £161 million deal and incorporates it into Littlewoods Gaming. It shifts from its core business to betting and gaming and later rebrands itself as Sportech PLC. The company then acquires Zetters in 2002 for £1.35 million. At this point, Zetters has an established customer base of 60,000 players. Meanwhile, Sportech has started eyeing Vernons that recently reported pre-tax profits of £5.9 million.
